James E. McFarland Jr. MA Ed., CSCS*D
James McFarland is the 2018 NSCA National High School Coach of the Year, and has been responsible for the health and physical education planning and implementation of Hillsborough High School’s Strength and Conditioning Program since 1997. He has been the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for grades 5-12 since 1999.
James has been involved with 8 collaborative research studies with The College of New Jersey, and has over 20 published works.
He has been a speaker for the NSCA since his start as a certified strength and conditioning specialist in 2001, and has been an adjunct professor for The College of New Jersey’s practical exercise science course for 4 years.
His practical experience is fortified with his USAW Senior Level Certification, experience as Fitness Consultant for the Northeast Kingdom Running Camp, and extensive experience in youth competitive Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting.
