What better way to take a break from online classes than with a home strength workout? During this quarantine, it is so important to stay active and even more important to stay healthy. During this Spring season, athletes cannot lose their momentum they have worked hard to build up during the Winter. Instead, the momentum can continue to be built at home!
Athletes will secure the band around their feet and get into a bent-over-row position with a strong core and back. Make sure to find the tension in the band that challenges you and works for you individually. Pull up and hold at the top for a good two seconds and then go down. Focus on squeezing the shoulder blades together, retracting the scapula, and bracing the core. This is a great strength exercise that engages multiple muscles for the athlete.
Athletes will again use the SKLZ Pro Band. Start by squatting down using both arms, pressing overhead and making sure the band is in the middle of both feet. The athlete’s feet should keep in contact with the ground the whole time. If the band is too strong for the athlete, take one foot up off the ground, put the band in the same hand as the band is under the foot, and you will do a single arm press squat. The focus of this exercise is maintaining good core stability. This is a great exercise for the athlete because it uses their core the entire time and focuses on proper squatting form.
This strength exercise targets the upper body using the SKLZ Quick Ladder. The athlete’s hands will be in the push-up position and will move to their right, putting each hand in each box of the ladder. This exercise creates great shoulder and core stability. The athlete will go down and back on the ladder.
Stay On Top Of Your Game While You Stay At Home
All of these exercises will keep athletes on track, keeping in mind the perfect form they have developed while working at Parisi. Focus is key at a time like this, and this focus can easily take place at home.
