7.4 Step 4 – Develop Supporting Materials

Now let’s take a look at Step 4.

The materials you will need depend on the launch plan you developed in Step 3.

Keep in mind that materials do not have to always be top quality, but they should always be professional. For example, you should ensure that they are grammatically correct and check your spelling before you release the materials.

In general, you will need the following types of supporting materials:

  • Social Media Posts
  • Email Content
  • Videos and Images
  • Talking Points (a mini elevator speech for your offering)
  • Flyer (covers benefits and expected outcomes of the offering)

There are many others, but these are the basics.

There are many others, but these are the basics. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the types of supporting materials you need might depend on the software, programs and hardware you have available for sending them out. We recommend you always research what types of graphics, text, photos your CRM and other platforms can handle before starting a material development project.

For example, if you’re planning a social media post and a general email launch for your campaign, make sure you develop the social media post in a format you can deliver on different social media platforms. To make the post more effective, It should include video, pictures, or graphics whenever possible.

You will also need to develop email content describing your offering and the benefits.

If you are planning to follow those Indirect Touch actions with Direct Touch phone calls, then you will need to develop talking points to help guide you through the conversation when you are able to speak directly with your customers, or when you leave a message.
