Proving Ground is a program that is open to any athlete who has a desire to receive verified athletic scores and times for a specific sport. Athletes can participate in the Proving Ground Program at Official Testing Centers inside of Parisi Locations.
Who is Running the Testing Center?
The Testing Center is run by 4 powerhouse companies in their respective industries:
- Parisi Speed School, the leader in youth sports performance training
- NCSA Athletic Recruiting, the largest online high school sports recruiting website
- Zybek Sports, an athletic testing company whose equipment has been used at the
NFL Combine the last five years
- BoxCommand, a software and technology company who has worked with
numerous sports training franchises and facilities
What is the Vision and Mission?
Vision – To advance the future goals of athletes through Standardized Athletic Testing, Sports Performance Training and Recruiting Education.
Mission – It is our purpose to provide all athletes with trusted information, cutting edge resources, and advanced platforms in order for them to reach their athletic and educational potential and dreams.
Why is this Essential for Athletes?
The Testing Center gives athletes:
- The opportunity to see where they stand athletically with their own score and in
comparison to other athletes across the nation, through Standardized
Athletic Testing (SAT).
- Information on programs to improve their scores and times, as well as the
necessary tools to increase their performance and visibility to college
coaches and navigate the recruiting process.
What is the Standard Athletic Test (SAT)?
The SAT is a series of athletic training drills that will be timed and scored. The SAT utilizes consistent methods, equipment, and reporting that can be considered verified within the athletic community. Just as the ACT measures and gives college admission advisors an understanding of a student’s academic knowledge, the SAT will give college coaches an understanding of an athlete’s skill level, thus potentially kick-starting a recruiting interest.
There are two options of testing:
- Group Testing – Up to 30 athletes completing the SAT during a scheduled event.
- Semi-Private Testing – Up to 4 athletes completing the SAT during a scheduled
appointment, with multiple re-test opportunities, including coaching and technique
suggestions between tries.
Who does the Standard Athletic Test (SAT)?
All testing is done by certified Parisi Speed School Performance Coaches, using strict testing protocols.
How will college coaches see these results?
By participating in a SAT at your local Parisi, you will receive a free NCSA online profile. NCSA profiles are utilized by tens of thousands of high school athletes and thousands of coaches across 27 sports.
Why is it important to reach coaches in this way?
The recruiting game has changed. Coaches are relying more and more on technology and information from trusted sources and spending less time on the recruiting trail. By getting verified scores and times through NCSA, coaches know they are getting accurate data on which to base decisions, which allows them to make more educated decisions on what athletes to contact.
What if the scores and times are not where the athlete wants them to be?
The athlete can decide what results are reported to his/her profile. The Parisi coach will provide suggestions to the athlete on how to improve his/her scores. The athlete can sign up for re-testing as many times as desired.
What are the additional benefits of SAT Testing?
Upon completing the SAT, a report is available that analyzes the athlete’s results and provides insight into areas of opportunity. NCSA’s involvement gives both athletes and parents invaluable insight, education and guidance on the recruiting process.
