Team Training
Powered By PM4
Team Training with the Parisi Method 4 (PM4) is a revolutionary approach from the Parisi Speed School. PM4 incorporates four fundamental and essential elements that are proven to be game-changers for coaches who are serious about team training, reducing the chance of injury, reaching an athlete’s physical potential, building confidence and bolstering team unity.
“Coaching is about teaching the right fundamentals!” –Bill Parisi
The four PM4 elements are:
- Active Dynamic Warm-up
- Every team training session starts with the active dynamic warm-up. We created it to assist coaches and athletes to serve as an assessment tool, improve conditioning and maximize performance. Our warm-up focuses on dynamic movements to increase core body temperature and blood flow. When this 15-20 minute warm-up is used consistently your athletes will notice a significant increase in stability, strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance.
- Movement Skill Methods
- The Movement Skill Methods concentrate on four areas important to a strong and powerful foundation. To ensure athletes get the most of their team training sessions, we will teach them how to improve speed with high attention to detail.
- Deceleration – The ability to decelerate properly is a learned skill and a must for injury prevention. Learning this method allows athletes reduce the forces placed on their body and thus create less strain on joints, tendons and ligaments.
- Acceleration – Applying a fast, powerful force into the ground and putting that force in the proper direction is key to maximizing acceleration and athletic performance.
- Change of Direction – This is all about center-of-gravity management. Great athletes understand the relationship between their base of support and center of gravity.
- Maximum Speed – Your athletes will increase their speed when they focus on increasing their stride length and frequency. They will learn how to have each foot come on and off the ground faster than ever.

- Strength & Power Development
- This third part of PM4 is another four-step process that creates strength, power and joint stabilization throughout the body.
- Lower Body – We utilize exercises that maximize strength and stabilization of the lower body and core. A stable spine helps generate greater power through the hips by minimizing energy leaks.
- Upper Body – We will direct exercises focused on compound movements using dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell, medicine ball, sandbag and partner movements. These all build strength and muscular endurance in the upper body and core.
- Core Strength – A strong stabilized core is critical to every movement your athletes make on the field. Core training is addressed in all four parts of this program with highly specialized exercises emphasized in this section.
- Power Development – Power is created through repetitive training and learning how to apply force quickly through plyometric training. This makes all the difference in creating explosive power.

- Total Conditioning
- The final phase of PM4 is focused on athletes who want to reach an athletic potential that they may not be aware exists within themselves. The Total Conditioning Method will show you how to get your athletes to exert a lot of power over extended periods of time. Our heavy emphasis on building local muscular endurance through body weight training builds incredible toughness. Our conditioning techniques give them the stamina to outlast the competition.
